Help When a Twitch or Kick VOD Will Not Play

A VOD that keeps loading is usually a source availability or browser issue, not a missing button. This guide gives the shortest useful checks before you report a problem.

Updated

First, check whether the replay exists

Open the original VOD link on its platform and make sure the recording has not been deleted or made private. NoSub cannot restore a source that Twitch or Kick no longer serves.

If the replay is still available, reload NoSub once. This asks the player for a fresh source instead of reusing an expired temporary link.

When another Kick VOD site stopped working

Kick changed the format of its replay links. The identifier in a public kick.com address is no longer the one Kick’s own API returns, and the two never match. Any player that looked a link up the old way started answering “video not found” for replays that were still online.

That is the most common reason a Kick VOD site that used to work suddenly stops, and it has nothing to do with your link, your account or your browser.

NoSub matches a replay by the moment it started, which both formats carry, so links people share keep working. If a replay still will not open here, the checks below tell you whether it is really gone at the source.

Fix common playback problems

Try these checks in order:

Quality, FPS and source limits

NoSub shows the source variants the platform provides. If a VOD has a 60 FPS variant, it can appear in the quality selector; a 30 FPS source cannot be turned into real 60 FPS by the player.

The exact qualities can differ between the same streamer’s broadcasts, devices and source availability.

Mobile, fullscreen and iOS playback

On phones NoSub uses the device’s native video path where it works best, so a Twitch or Kick replay can play on iOS and Safari without an extra app. If fullscreen does not cover the screen, rotate to landscape and open fullscreen again from the player controls.

Double-tap the left or right side of the video to skip back or forward on a touch screen. If playback stutters on mobile data, pick a lower quality — the Source variant is the heaviest and a steady 720p is usually smoother.

FAQ

A Kick VOD site I used stopped working — what changed?

Kick changed its replay link format: the identifier in a public kick.com address is no longer the one its API returns. Players that matched the two directly stopped finding replays that still exist. NoSub matches on the recording’s start time, which both formats carry, so shared links keep working.

Why does a VOD keep showing Loading stream?

The platform source may be slow, expired or unavailable. Reload once, check the original VOD link, then try an available quality.

Does NoSub work on iPhone and Safari?

Yes. NoSub uses the native playback path on iOS and Safari so replays open without an extra app; only very old browser versions may lack support.

Why can I only select 30 FPS?

The platform may only expose 30 FPS for that specific replay. NoSub cannot create frames that are not present in the original source.

What should I include in a bug report?

Send the VOD URL, your device and browser, the time of the problem and a screenshot if possible. Do not include private account information.
